We work for an Ireland where people who claim asylum are treated with humanity and dignity. An Ireland where Direct Provision ends and is replaced by a reception approach that gives privacy, supports integration, and builds agency. We work to ensure that Ireland continues to expand pathways to safety for people fleeing persecution around the world. In the midst of Europe’s crisis of leadership on refugee issues, we believe Ireland has a unique role to play and can itself demonstrate leadership with human rights at its heart. Our advocacy is based on sound evidence based research and aims to present constructive solutions. Fundamentally, the voice and experience of people in the asylum system will always be at the fore of our work and we will actively pursue inclusion. We will facilitate, support, guide and learn from the diverse and vibrant civil society responses to people seeking asylum in Ireland, working closely with our traditional partners and supporting new movements and ideas.
