Education Programme

Our Education Programme is for people in the international protection process and refugees (adults) interested in Further Education and Higher Education.  If you need information on Primary or Secondary school (children) please visit www.schooldays.ie or www.education.ie.

We believe education is an investment in the future of individuals and the country. Given the opportunity, people excel in education and when they do, society prospers. Education does more that play a vital role in personal development; it also boosts self-esteem and promotes integration .

Our Education Programme works to broaden access to higher education for refugees and people in the protection process in four ways:

  1. We advocate to make education genuinely accessible to people seeking asylum.
  2. We work with universities and Higher Education Institutions to support the development of Sanctuary Scholarships.
  3. We seek donations from the public and corporations in order to open our Education Fund each year. When the fund opens in June 2023 you can find the application form HERE.  If you are a potential donor, please see HERE explaining how you can help us.
  4. We provide information and advice to potential students individually as well as providing online meetings to talk about college applications and funding opportunities.
