Why support us?

We work with people seeking protection and those who have been granted refugee status in Ireland; men, women and children who had to flee their home country because it is not safe for them. The most visible example of this is people feeling war or conflict. We also work with people who face persecution that is less visible. People who have experienced torture, death threats and violence because of aspects of their identity or their actions – persecution based on their sexual identity, their religious beliefs, their political stance, for protesting, for being female, for being a ethnic minority.

Your support gives us the independence and autonomy to have the greatest impact on a diverse community of people with so much to offer Irish society. By supporting our work, you are helping to:

  • Keep families together
  • Safeguard children’s rights
  • Protect women
  • End Direct Provision and implement alternatives
  • Tackle homelessness
  • Empower young people
  • Support LGBT rights
  • Advocate for employment and education access
  • Assist search and rescue operations in the Mediterranean
  • Grow the movement for an inclusive EU that safeguards the rights and dignity of all
