Youth Work
Supporting Young People
Our Youth Work programme supports young people aged 16–25 seeking international protection or with status in Ireland. It delivers this support through:
- Group activities and workshops
- One-to-one support
- Access to information and resources
- Peer support networks
We prioritise empowerment, inclusion, and participation, ensuring that young people’s voices are heard and their rights are respected. Our work is guided by principles of Equality, Inclusion, Respect, Trust, Participation, Empowerment, Authenticity, and Consistency.
Weekly Youth Group
Our Youth Group meets most Wednesdays and focuses on community connections. Activities encourage engagement with self, nature, and the wider community. Past activities include:
- Poetry, Cartooning, Drama Games, Music, Dance
- Yoga and Sports (Football)
- Museum and Cultural Visits (Dublin Castle Tour)
- Employment Skills, Cooking, Performing Arts
Short-Term Projects and Events
We run various short-term projects and events alongside weekly sessions:
- We Still Dream – Photography project with Tobi Bello
- Graphic Words – Collaboration with Fighting Words & Dublin Graphic Studio
- Robotics, Coding & Circuitry – Project with Kinia and Glow Group
- Galway Camping Trips – With Venture Out
- Wicklow Conservation – With the School of Looking
- Elevate Youth Arts – Creative arts initiative with Kelvin Akpaloo & Creativity & Change.
Young Leaders Network
The Young Leaders Network enables participants from the Youth Group to:
- Develop leadership skills
- Guide the direction of youth programmes
- Provide peer support
- Represent the group at events
