The Irish Refugee Council Child Refugee Service is an affiliate service of Tusla, Child and Family agency, that assists unaccompanied minors seeking international protection in Ireland.
Committed to child-centred justice, we endeavour to equip children with the necessary resources to navigate the international protection process.
What we do:
- We esnure that children are equipped with knowledge and understanding of the international protection process, including important definitions.
- We asssit children to draft their questionnaire, a critical document relied upon in the determination of a child's eligibility for international protection
- We support children to lodge their applications for international protection at the International Protection Office.
- We assist children to access critical legal advice and representation.
- We attend important interviews with children at the International Protection Office.
- We asssist with statutory appeals, where applicable
How to access our service:
Access to the Child Refugee Service is by referral from Tusla Child & Family Agency, typically the Separated Children Seeking International Protection (SCSIP) intake team, following a determination of a young person’s eligibility for childcare services.
If you are a child seeking international in Ireland you should speak to your social worker, or social care worker, to find out how to access our service.
