Mohd Khalil
Mohd is a human rights defender, researcher, and writer with over two decades of senior leadership experience across the MENA region and Ireland. Throughout his career, he has worked directly with refugees and internally displaced people in several countries, and his expertise spans human rights, migration, peacebuilding, conflict analysis, and the prevention of violent extremism.
He currently serves as Deputy Manager at Dublin City Volunteer Centre, where his work includes organisational development, HR, financial management, board reporting, and policy and governance. He writes and publishes bilingually in Arabic and English on human rights, immigration, and migration. He is also an alumnus of the US State Department's International Visitor Leadership Programme, the EU International Visitor Programme, and the Migrant Leadership Academy at the Immigrant Council of Ireland.
The skills he brings to the board include governance and financial oversight; strategic and organisational leadership; advocacy on human rights, migration, and refugee protection; deep subject knowledge of refugee, internally displaced persons (IDP), and migration issues, including Irish protection and immigration policy; lived and community understanding of those the Council serves, with strong networks across migrant and civil society organisations in Ireland; and fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English.
