Trevor joined the Irish Refugee Council in April 2021. Trevor is the IRC’s Development Officer for the Community Sponsorship programme. Refugee Community Sponsorship allows local communities to prepare to welcome and support a refugee family under the Government’s resettlement programme. The Irish Refugee Council acts as ‘Regional Support Organisation’ for local communities in Ireland, which includes preparing interested community groups in their applications and settlement plans and delivering training to prepare local groups to empower refugees to independence.

Before joining IRC, Trevor worked as an Urban Planner in various roles, most recently with Green-Schools Ireland. Trevor has volunteered for many years with refugees and asylum seekers in Ireland, including with a local community sponsorship group in Dublin and overseas, as well as on the Greek islands and the Occupied Palestinian Territories. Trevor graduated with First Class Honours in 2020 with a Masters in Refugee Integration from Dublin City University and another Masters in Town Planning.
