The IRC is seeking a volunteer Treasurer

The Irish Refugee Council is Ireland’s only national non-governmental organisation working to protect and promote the lives of refugees.  We are a small organisation that is making a big impact. As we head into a new phase of our business plan, we are looking for an enthusiastic and creative individual to join our Board of Directors as Treasurer.  The Treasurer contributes to the fundraising strategy and advises on the financial viability of the organisation.  This is a voluntary position suitable for someone with a Finance or Accounting background.

Role and responsibilities:

·      Member of the Board of Directors with governance responsibilities.

·      Member of the Fundraising Committee.

·      Oversight of the organisation’s finances: support the Financial Manager in ensuring that the organisation keeps proper books of account, a good internal control system and that the accounts are audited annually by independent auditors.

·      Presentation of regular accounts to Board of Directors.
