On the 25 February the Irish government stated that people who are considering leaving Ukraine and travelling to Ireland can come without a visa.  At the time of writing, an estimated 100,000 Ukrainian refugees have either arrived in or expected to arrive in Ireland over the next couple of months.

The response in Ireland has been overwhelmingly kind and generous.  On 12 June, as part of this effort Michael has committed to completing the Wicklow 100 cycle using a city bike generously provided by NOW dublinbikes for that day.

The route of this year’s 100km cycle will take in Enniskerry, Roundwood, Laragh, Redcross, Glenealy, Ashford, returning to Enniskerry and finishing in Bray (before returning the bike).   The route will involve climbs of 681m in ascent and 651m in descent.

Making a donation today will further ensure that Ireland does its part and that Ukrainian people continue to feel safe and welcome when they arrive in Ireland.  Michael wishes to thank all those who have donated so generously so far.  Any donation you can afford would be greatly appreciated.

Finally, Michael wants to acknowledge the support and encouragement of all the staff at Beecycles, Dublin 8.
