Charlotte joined the Irish Refugee Council in May 2015 as our Education Officer.  Her role involves supporting students into Post-Leaving Certificiate (PLC) and Third Level Education, and working with Universities and Colleges to introduce scholarships and achieve Sanctuary Status. 

The Government provides for Primary and Secondary Education for children seeking International Protection.  Since 2020 the government also provide support for adult protection applicants to attend further and higher education once living in Ireland for more than three years.  The Irish Refugee Council is the only National NGO providing dedicated support for access to Post Leaving Cert and Third Level Education in this sector with generous support of donors and funders including the Community Foundation for Ireland

Charlotte has a BSc in Social Science (Geography, Social Policy & Social Justice) and an MSc in Equality Studies from University College Dublin.
