Brian is Senior Solicitor at the Irish Refugee Council's Independent Law Centre. He provides representation to clients at all stages of the international protection process. Brian was called to the Irish Bar in 2010 and subsequently gained experience as a practitioner in the area of immigration and asylum law. He joined the Law Centre as a legal officer in November 2012, and in 2014 he changed roles when he was admitted to practise as a solicitor.

Brian is the European Legal Network on Asylum (ELENA) co-coordinator for Ireland, and moderates the Refugee Legal Forum on behalf of the Irish Refugee Council. He is a graduate of University College Cork and holds a Bachelor of Law degree (BCL) and a Master of Law (LLM). He also holds an Advanced Diploma in Employment Law from King’s Inns. Brian completed the Leadership development for transition and change programme, 2018/2019. He is also a Board member of Arts and Disability Ireland
