Trevor joined the Irish Refugee Council in April 2021. Trevor is the IRC’s Development Officer for the Community Sponsorship programme. Refugee Community Sponsorship allows local communities to prepare to welcome and support a refugee family under the Government’s resettlement programme. The Irish Refugee Council acts as ‘Regional Support Organisation’ for local communities in Ireland, which includes preparing interested community groups in their application to the Government programme along with local settlement planning. This includes delivery of training aimed to prepare local groups to support refugee families towards long term independence.

Prior to joining IRC, Trevor has worked as a Town Planner in a variety of roles including most recently with Green-Schools Ireland. Trevor has for many years worked in volunteer capacity with refugees and asylum seekers in Ireland, including with a local community sponsorship group and overseas, including on the Greek islands and the Occupied Palestinian Territories. Trevor is a member of Comhlámh’s ‘Ireland Says Welcome’ member group and in 2020 he graduated with First Class Honours from DCU’s Masters in Refugee Integration.
