Education Support

Our Education Support is for adults in the international protection process and refugees interested in Further Education and Higher Education.  If you need information on Primary or Secondary school (children) please visit www.schooldays.ie or www.education.ie.

We believe education is an investment in the future of individuals and the country. Given the opportunity, people excel in education, and society prospers when they do. Education does more than play a vital role in personal development; it boosts self-esteem and promotes integration.

We work to broaden access to further and higher education for refugees and people in the protection process in four ways:

  1. Government      - we advocate for education to be genuinely accessible to people seeking asylum via government policy.
  2. Universities        - we work with universities to support the development of Sanctuary Scholarships.
  3. Information       - we provide information & direction to potential students as well as offering online information webinars.
  4. Education Fund - we seek donations to support education where the government and universities/colleges cannot.
    1. The IRC Education Fund opens for applications early June and closes late July for courses starting in September.
    2. To donate to the fund  - you can donate in many ways, please see HERE for more details.

IF YOU ARE A REFUGEE/PROTECTION APPLICANT IN NEED OF EDUCATION SUPPORT
